C&NW engines 8556, 8023, and 8531 lead the JROLC through Lusk, WY on May 18, 1992. The train loaded at Jacobs Ranch and is headed to American Electric Power's Public Service of Oklahoma Northeastern power plant at Oologah, OK. Train JROLC has 109 loads at 14,331 tons. During 1998, the plant consumed almost 3.7 million tons of Wyoming coal at $20.40 per ton. This is the cost of the coal at the mine plus the transportation charge. If you are doing video taping, be aware that Lusk has one of the loudest crossing bells I've ever heard. Disk 81 |
