Union Pacific train at Black River Junction Northern Pacific Crossing

Union Pacific train at Black River Junction Northern Pacific Crossing

South of the tower, the old Milwaukee Road track crossed over the former Northern Pacific double track. The Union Pacific gained trackage rights over the Northern Pacific from Vancouver to Tacoma and over the Milwaukee Road from Tacoma to Black River Junction in 1910. Train 1-691 has set most of its train out in Tacoma. Now engines 3072 and 3449 are pulling 14 empty piggyback flats and a caboose over the BN double track and will regain UP trackage just north of the tower. Disk 7
