UP unit coal train CBBPL at Wamsutter, WY

Coal train CBBPL (Black Buttes to Commonwealth Edison Joliet Plant at Plains, IL) has engines 3688, 3400, 2465, and 3103 at Wamsutter on Sept. 18, 1987. The Black Buttes mine began production in 1979 and was a joint venture between Union Pacific and Kiewit Mining Group Inc. The original symbol for this unit train was PBUE. It began on August 21, 1979 handling 115 cars on a seven day turn around schedule.
