After the Utah Railway got rid of the old Alcos, it leased second hand EMD units. Former SP SD45s 9148, 9143, and 9149 (all built in 1970) with exBN F45 6608 (built in 1969) are in full dynamic as they ease an Intermountain Power coal train down the western slope of Soldier Summit at Rio on June 2, 1989.
