Extra 8763 West (freight train symbol HOWCY) eases by the remnants of a derailment east of Longfellow. The town of Longfellow was named by the railroad in 1881 after the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The station was closed in 1944 and after the railroad switched from steam to diesel shut down the water well facilities in 1954. Disk 100
