Southern Pacific empty coal train symbol EMFWN at Angus, TX

I am riding the fourth unit on train 259 (the empty San Antonio coal, train symbol EMFWN) as it meets the loads at Angus. The train has a bunch of engines: SP 8744 and 8712, then BN 5090, 5091, 5383, and 7219 pulling 110 empty gondolas and a caboose. The original plan was for me to get off when this train stopped here for the meet, but instead we just rolled right on through. Ruth was driving the car and I had to figure out a quick way to contact her. This was long before everyone had a cell phone. I was hoping Ruth would have the scanner on in the car. I had the engineer get on the radio and give the strangest message that was probably transmitted that day, "Ruthy get off at 6th Street!" She told me later that the message came over the scanner just as she was approaching the exit sign for 6th Street.

It is getting late in the afternoon and the shadows are getting long. Approaching Angus, the train was coming out from between a bunch of trees as it was going through a curve. That is Interstate 45 on the right. Disk 99
