Santa Fe Railway freight train symbol 305 at Saginaw

Engines 6380, 3073, and 5062 rattle over the various crossings on September 12, 1986 with train 305. Saginaw Tower was replaced by that little tin box with the open door. A signal maintainer steps out to give the train a rollby. The first car is a M/W flatcar with a damaged covered hopper.

Note the additional set of headlights on engine 5062. The SD40-2 was built in 1979 and was one of only about a dozen to get these extra lights. Train 305 is going into the yard at Saginaw to set out traffic for Fort Worth and pick up traffic for southeast Texas. Caboose 999581 brings up the rear. Disk 89
