If you look on a map the town is clearly labeled Farwell, but the railroad calls this Texico. Train symbol CAMML is coming through Texico approaching Lone Star Junction on July 12, 1988. The train had engines Oakway 9024, 9059, Santa Fe 8117, 8166, and 5144. At this time the train was interchanged with the BN at Amarillo. Later the interchange point was moved to Pueblo and the train operated via La Junta to avoid a back-up move at Amarillo.

The train was headed for Southwestern Public Service Company (now Xcel Energy) Roy Tolk Station near Muleshoe, TX. Knowing that the train would be slowing to go around the wye at Lone Star Junction gave me the opportunity to take this road south and take a couple more pictures after the train came through the junction. The train has changed from running southwest to running almost due east. You can see some of the other loaded gondolas to the right of the lead engine. Disk 105
