While MP 2272 and UP 2176 switch the North Yard on September 12, 1986 I heard a toot to the south. Running a little ways west, I was able to catch UP train symbol HOKC as it came around the Barnhart Wye on its way to Centennial Yard. Most of the train has been left at MKT's Ney Yard. This train symbol began in the Winter of 1983 as train HKB operating from Houston with traffic for Fort Worth, Kansas City, and North Platte.
The train had MP engines 3319, 3120, 3222, and 3285. Notice that the placement of the bell changed from just after the air intake to just ahead of the radiator section on the fireman's side of the SD40s. Disk 92
