Santa Fe Railway train symbol CFWSX at Tower 55 in Fort Worth, TX

There is usually a coal train for Houston Power and Light about halfway through the morning. On September 12, 1986 I caught BN 5549 working with five other units (two from the Santa Fe) pulling train symbol CFWSX. It had a string of UFIX gondolas headed to the big power plant at Smithers Lake west of Houston. Get ready for some loud noise as about 500 axles (over 1,000 wheels) are going to clatter across the double track crossing.

In the background to the left of the train are three of Fort Worth's tallest skyscrappers. From left to right the buildings are: the Bank One Tower, Wells Fargo Tower, and D.R. Horton Tower. The Bank One Tower was built in 1974 was severely damaged by an F2 tornado on March 28, 2000. It was the tallest building in Fort Worth until 1982 when the Wells Fargo Tower was completed. D.R. Horton Tower was completed in 1984. Disk 91
