BN train 77 coming by the depot at Bowie, TX

The Fort Worth and Denver City reached Bowie on July 1, 1882. Bowie was named for James Bowie, one of the 188 defenders of the Alamo and is pronounced boo-ee. Extra 873 West (train 77) comes by the depot at Bowie (milepost 68) on April 14, 1979.
