Train FH (Fort Worth to Houston - Extra 3209 South) is near Grandview (milepost 793) on August 2, 1980. Eight miles later the train is near Itasca. I generally try to get on the sunny side of the train so that the sun will be at my back and the train will be full illuminated. However, this train was making good time and I would have had to wait for the whole train to pass before I could jump back in the car and continue the chase. Note that one of the headlights is burned out. |
