Late in the afternoon of February 26, 1974 northbound Texas Chief is zipping by Saginaw Tower with engine 519 in the lead. The track in the foreground is the exFW&D. A short time later Extra 6328 West comes by Saginaw Tower.

This was a fairly busy junction and traffic would increase with the addition of PRB coal trains for south Texas all routed through here. The last train for the day was on the BN, Extra 6912 West.
