Jack Delano is on his epic journey across the Santa Fe in March 1943. He has stopped at Canadian and caught a picture of Engine 1135 swapping cabooses on a westbound train. Engine 1135 is a 2-6-2 Prairie built by Baldwin in 1903. Canadian was a crew change point until 1954. Canadian had a five track roundhouse until 1951. Engine 1805 (2-6-2) suffered a boiler explosion in the roundhouse at 1:57 P.M. on April 1, 1951. The crown sheet failed due to low water. This was the last boiler explosion on the Santa Fe.
Extra 326 West (long distance local 2121) pauses at Canadian to pick up an MP boxcar plus the two Santa Fe boxcars and a hopper from the next track on February 23, 1974. Second picture is on disk 104
