BN engine 5022 leads five other units pulling coal train symbol 4615 by the depot at McGregor on March 22, 1980. The train is crossing the SSW line that was extended from Waco west to Gatesville in 1882. The goal for this line was to reach Mexico at either Eagle Pass or Laredo. However, the line never got beyond Gatesville. |

The train is going into the siding to meet Amtrak's Texas Eagle. At the end of 1997, BNSF was delivering 35 trains a month to the plant at Smithers Lake, TX. |
