With the interchange traffic picked up and the train back together, Extra 2009 is headed west again. That is US 24 and downtown Kentland to the left of the engines.

A little over 4,000 feet further west, the train passes the distant signal for the crossing at Kentland. The semaphore arm is permanently set at a diagonal. Train passing this signal eastbound should be prepared to stop short of the position light signal protecting the crossing at Kentland.
