Missouri Pacific engine 1570 at Tower 19

The Dallas switcher passes Tower 19 with MP engine 1570 pulling an assortment of cars for SP's Miller Yard on April 4, 1987. The Santa Fe's Dallas Branch crossed MKT's Hillsboro Subdivision at Tower 19. Also using the MKT trackage into Dallas from Endot (half mile south) was the MP and SP. The BN and CRI&P (until 1980) got on 30 miles further south at Waxahachie, so they had a longer journey on the Hillsboro Subdivision. The tower not only protected the crossing, but also controlled many of the switches at the south end of the joint right of way yard, interchange tracks with Santa Fe's Dallas Yard, and the junction at Endot. There was also a small CTC board above the operator's desk that controlled Santa Fe trackage up to the Hale cement line.
