SP Extra 9235 East is going through a series of tunnels near Applegate, CA late in the afternoon of May 15, 1973. Track No 1 (westbound main) is crossing over Track No. 2. The engineer has turned out the headlight since the train is stopped. A maintenance crew is working about a mile further up the hill.
