Santa Fe freight train symbol SWG at Bealville

Train SWG, Extra 3438 West, drops downgrade between the west end of Bealville siding and the crossover at the mid-point. Train SWG (swig to the railroaders) is a run-thru between the Santa Fe, the Western Pacific, and the Great Northern that goes up the inside Gateway. This line was completed in the 1930s and heads north from Keddie, CA to Klamath Falls, OR. The line then uses trackage rights on the SP to Chemult and continues north down the Deschutes River to a connection with the Spokane, Portland and Seattle at Wishram, WA.
