The Houston Power & Light unit coal train is at the north end of Santa Fe's Manhattan, TX siding on May 15, 1978. The BN units are run thru power that will take the train all the way to Smithers Lake. Cut in about two-thirds deep is a three unit helper. See coal train for a shot of the helpers. Manhattan is 37 miles north of Temple.
