Utah coal for the Kerr McGee chemical plant at Trona, CA is negotiating the loop at Walong on June 9, 1987. The coal was loaded at either Banning or Castle Gate, Utah. The Rio Grande moved the train to Ogden. The SP took the train west to Roseville, then south to Mojave. The train then reversed directions in the yard at Mojave and went northeast to Searles and Trona.
