Right on the Arizona New Mexico line is Steins (pronounced "steens") Hill. On February 1, 1974 train EPW (El Paso West) crests the hill. Engines 8777 and 8714 are pulling a string of empty box cars and flat cars destined for the lumber mills of northern California and Oregon.
