Southern Pacific pioneered Piggyback in the West and Southwest in 1953. Today, SP offers shippers the largest fleet of privately owned Piggyback equipment in the United States. But more important than size of this fleet is flexibility. SP's newest Piggyback cars are equipped to carry any type of semi-trailer, including containers. The huge trailer pool can take on just about anything that goes on by truck. And for good measure, SP's participation in equipment rental programs makes even more equipment available when needed.
