It is hard to believe that in September 1973 you could get a new home in Southern California for less than $27,000. Extra 7935 west roars through Honby, CA with train LANCP (Los Angeles North Coast Perishable and Manifest). The lead engine is a GE U30C built in 1969 and was initially assigned to the Tehachapi Freight Pool. It has 3,000 horsepower and weighs 209 tons.
