The signal department installed CTC between El Paso and San Antonio in the late 70s. This eliminated the semaphore signals and all of the train order stations. Forty miles west of San Antonio, piggyback train symbol LXMFT approaches the CTC signal at the west end of Dunlay on November 1, 1990. It has engines 7486, 8231, 6846, 8058, and 9691.
