Train LAWJZ (Los Angeles to Watsonville Junction manifest) has just come through the tunnel at Cuesta on November 15, 1977. The train has engines 6801, 6632, and 8460. Note that one of the lights is out on the ocsillating unit on the nose. This train used to be symbol GGM (Golden Gate Manifest). This is the highest point on the Coast Route at a little over 1,300 feet. |

Just after cresting the hill the tracks go under US 101. The tracks then descend at around two percent to Santa Margarita. |
