During the 90s, the SP began replacing the old semaphore signals on the Tucumcari Line. Engine 9600 is on its first run westbound with hot piggyback train symbol CHLXT 12 miles north of Carrizozo, NM. The train is dropping down grade through the semaphore signals at Coyote on February 25, 1988.
