Southern Pacific freight train symbol MEKFM at Texum, OR

Train MEKFM comes into Texum (milepost 426) with 35 cars on July 7, 1989. Two years earlier when we came through Klamath Falls the Modoc Line was shut down. This time it was open again and I was hoping to get pictures of a train along that line again. My first trip was in 1972 using a twin lens reflex camera. My first trip shooting slides was in 1973 and you will see a couple of those pictures later in this series. Train MEKFM originated at Medford, OR. It set out southbound cars at Black Butte and then reversed directions and will soon be terminating in Klamath Falls. All of these cars will be added to this afternoon's EUASM. Train MEKFM has engines 9398, 8290, and 8573.
