Train symbol 195 slowly pulls into the small yard at Saginaw, TX on January 30, 1987. It has engines 6370, 2310, 2717, and 2928. Saginaw was an interesting place to watch four different railroads in the 70s. There was an armstrong interlocking tower at the junction of Santa Fe's north south mainline with the BN and CRI&P lines. The Santa Fe line north of Saginaw was under CTC, but the BN and CRI&P occasionally picked up trainorders at Saginaw tower. The BN and CRI&P crossed at Bowie, 59 miles to the northwest, but followed very different routes to Saginaw. After crossing the Santa Fe, the BN continued straight into North Yard. However, the CRI&P curved south and followed within 100 feet of the Santa Fe for five miles to North Fort Worth Tower. The MKT ran a train three days a week over trackage rights on the BN to or from Wichita Falls.
