Westbound freight train at Horseshoe Curve meets eastbound helper set

The horseshoe curve was initially double track. Two additional tracks were added around 1900. Conrail removed track 2 in 1981. I was fortunate to get there just before that, when the line still had all four tracks. Horseshoe Curve is at milepost 242.

Extra 6317 West meets a returning set of helpers (engines 6149 and 6144) at Horseshoe Curve on June 26, 1980. The westbound train has engines 6317, 2732, 2795, 3275, and 3198 on the point plus engines 6224 and 6109 on the rear pushing. Disk 120
