The Overland Mail Northwest comes down the hill from Kamela and under Interstate 84 into Meacham on November 7, 1976. The train has a set of Fast 40s, engines 8053, 8022, 8026, and 8028. The Fast 40s were geared for 80 miles per hour and were numbered in the 8000 series. This train began as the Advanced Northwest Forwarder in the 60s, became the Overland Mail Northwest on June 3, 1976 and became the NPSET on September 23, 1986.
