Union Pacific Railroad unit grain train symbol GQKSKA at Meacham, OR

The railroad has made many improvements during the years. The original mainline curved around the hill on the right. The dirt road to the left of the little stream used to be the roadbed. With heavier earth moving equipment, the railroad dug through the mountain and widened the curve to where you see it in the top picture. Double track now runs through here.
