The next morning I was able to get a couple more pictures while Ruth had her coffee and got ready for another day of train chasing. The Oregon California & Eastern started as an independent railroad in the 1920s. It was later owned by both the SP and GN. Weyerhaeuser bought the railroad in 1975. The Oregon California & Eastern acquired seven former Union Pacific U25Bs. These were repowered with EMD 567 engines by Morrison-Knudson in May 1976. Most of the operations on the Oregon California & Eastern ended in 1990 and the sawmill shut down in 1992. Disk 20 |
