By the time I was able to get back on US66, the eastbound train was long gone. However, on the way back to Claremore, I caught another westbound lead by engine 859. The caboose has just cleared the crossing with the Missouri Pacific and the engineer has opened the throttle to run 8 to get the train back up to track speed. The sun would set in about a half hour so this would be my last set of pictures for the day. The date is July 12, 1980. Engines 859 is in a pack of four U30Bs. Disk 84
