Portsmouth Belt Line at Coleman Place

The cab of engine 115 seems a little crowded as the engine pulls a cut of cars through Coleman Place in Norfolk, VA in March 1978. The engine had been switching at Little Creek and is now headed back to Portsmouth. The diamond in the foreground was the crossing of the old Virginian and the Norfolk Southern. The Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line engine 115 is shifting from trackage rights on the old Norfolk Southern (at this time Southern Rwy, note the Southern style whistle post) to old Virginian (at this time Norfolk & Western) trackage.
