Train 901 (Extra 8740 East) chugs into Dalies with a large block of mechanical reefers on the headend on May 18, 1978. The engineer will soon be throttling back and placing the units in dynamic braking as his train tops the hill. There was an interlocking tower that stood near where the sign post is located. The tower was removed around 1965 and the functions of the switches and signals at Dalies were controlled from a small CTC board in the dispatchers office in Winslow.
