Engines 3556, CR6495, CNW6854, and 2830 pull train 273 toward Silver Creek on June 20, 1980. This is a run through of Conrail freight train symbol ELUP from Elkhart, IN. It goes to CNW train 273 at Proviso Yard in Chicago and then to the UP at Fremont. On November 12, 1981, both the CNW and UP symbols were changed to ELNPA.
A little cloud showed up at the wrong time for the caboose shot.
Engines 3640 and WP 3014 pull an officer special toward Omaha. Little did I know in 1980 that this little train was a forerunner of big changes to come. The Western Pacific and Missouri Pacific would be swallowed up by the Yellow Borg in 1982. Disk 78
