Two years later I was on another train chasing trip and spent the night in Grand Island. The next morning (June 20, 1980) was foggy, so I headed west as the wind from the west was pushing the low clouds out. I caught engines 3657 and 3168 leading a unit coal train loaded in the Hanna Basin through the little hamlet of Alda on its way to Gary, IN. Notice the new welded rail that will soon be replacing the old jointed south rail on the eastbound main. Disk 78
