The highway stays down at the bottom of the canyon as the tracks cling to the mountainside and goes around the horseshoe curve at Blacktail. From an F unit this is what it looks like at track level. I have yet to figure out an easy way into this area. Be aware that bears frequent the tracks in this area looking for spilled grain. A couple weeks before I rode through, here there had been a minor derailment and the grain was fermenting. The smell alone would almost get you drunk. With that strong a smell it is no wonder that bears are attracted to the area. Disk 13
