Milwaukee Road trains meet at Auburn

March 14, 1973 started out as a typical yucky winter day. It was cloudy, windy, and cold. Milwaukee Road Extra 2060 West meets Extra 626 East at Auburn, WA. The switch engine is taking a few autoracks received from the Burlington Northern at Tacoma up to West Siding for unloading. In 1973, the valley was quite rural with mostly pasture land. Now it is part of the urban sprawl as Seattle has extended south and Tacoma extended east and north up the valley.
