A unit grain train finally showed up and we decided to chase it south into Oklahoma. The train is shifting from the westward main to the eastward main and will soon take the branch down to Winfield. Steve took the top picture and I took the picture above.
I visited Augusta again on June 9, 1978. Train 185 was the first train by the tower and would be the last heading south until after sunset, so I had to chase it and wasn't able to spend a lot of time at the tower. Train 185 was scheduled out of Chicago at 900PM and into Dallas at 230AM with TOFC traffic for Oklahoma City and Dallas. Notice that the engineer is about to pick up his set of train orders from the delivery fork. Disk 83
