Engines 8012, 8074, and 8065 pull train LAM through Hershey on June 8, 1978. The fast 40s (8000 series) were geared for 80 miles per hour and were normally found on the fast piggyback trains. Train LAM handled general freight traffic and was scheduled out of North Platte at 300PM. This train became the NPLA on May 14, 1985.
