General Motors test train with EMD F7 engine 462 at Old Fort, NC in May 1981

My future bride and I were in Old Fort, NC to chase the Carolina Special on May 23, 1981. Right next to the station was the GM test train with engine 462. This unit began life on the C&NW as an F7 in 1949 and was returned to EMD in 1959 and upgraded to an F9 in 1960. It was scrapped in 1998.
