Engines 3923 and 8252 lead the train to Swainsboro through the little community of Modoc. This line was part of the Georgia & Florida Railway between Augusta and Madison, FL. Much of this railroad was abandoned during the 1950s and the railroad became part of the Southern Railway in 1963. Modoc is about four miles north of Swainsboro and the primary industry on this segment is the large lumber mill at Nunez about four miles south of Swainsboro. Disk 131
