In 1951 ACL installed US&S CTC between Manchester and Cordele, GA 94 miles. This was extended to Fitsgerald 37 miles in 1952. Also during 1952, ACL installed CTC from Manchester, GA to Atlanta. The CTC machine was in Manchester. Prior to CTC this line had no signals but handled 14 to 17 trains a day.
