Eastern Shore Railroad locomotives at Cape Charles, VA

The Pennsylvania RR was extended south from Pocomoke to Cape Charles around 1882. Traffic connected with barges from there to the Little Creek terminal near Norfolk. The last passenger train ran in 1958. Freight traffic declined after the completion of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in 1964. The Eastern Shore Railroad began operation in 1981. We stopped at the Eastern Shore Railroad yard at Cape Charles, VA in 1986. There was an interesting variety of locomotives sitting there.
