From Gilluly to Soldier Summit the tracks are south of the highway and almost inaccessible, unless you hike in. This is the first crossing that will get you to the south side of the tracks and is just west of the actual summit. Extra 3013 West (train 189) is at Soldier Summit (milepost 651) on December 2, 1975. The elevation at this crossing is 7,440 feet.
