D&RGW Railroad coal train 721 at Byers Canyon

D&RGW Railroad coal train 721 at Byers Canyon

Train 721 crawls through Byers Canyon on November 11, 1976. This train will go up the Craig Branch and load at Axial. Byers Canyon is short, about four miles long, but very scenic. US Highway 40 runs on the southeast side of the Colorado River with the tracks on the northwest. This makes photography easy from mid-morning to early afternoon. Disk 36
