It is May 16, 1992 and helpers are still being cut off of heavy coal trains at Palmer Lake. However, without cabooses the helper power no longer has to zig and zag to put the train back together. The engines simply cut off from the train, the brakeman connects the air hose to the EOT (End of train devise), and they can head back to Denver. These units just helped train AINNC (formerly D&RGW train 710) from Denver up to Palmer Lake. The train loaded at Axial and was going to Colorado Springs Nixon power plant with 73 CSUX hoppers.
