The loaded train met an empty train at Monument, so we had to wait about 20 minutes for the next train to arrive. The empty Smithers Lake train (JJ051) is going back to the Buckskin Mine in Wyoming for another load of PRB coal on September 20, 1987. The train was powered by all GE C30-7s, engines 5568, 5520, 5064, 5090, 5032. These engines were built between 1977 and 1980 to handle the growing number of PRB coal trains. Disk 38
